Toppan produces Light Basis Weight Papers and Decorative Foils of the highest quality. Printed decorative patterns can be combined with chemical, optical, or matte embossing to enhance the realism of our woodgrain patterns and other natural materials. Our Light Basis Weight Papers have long been used in Ready-to-Assemble Furniture (RTA), cabinets, wall paneling, shelving, closet systems, and interior fittings. Our papers can be engineered in different ways to meet required physical properties for various applications. Depending on your specifications, we can produce our papers with a lower amount of resin in the base paper and offer a more price competitive product for use on your general surface applications. Or in types of applications where physical properties are crucial, we can offer our impregnated papers. These papers do not require a topcoat, but Toppan can apply a topcoat to increase the overall durability of these decorative foils. Depending on the basis weight of the selected papers, our Light Basis Weight Paper can be profile wrapped allowing you to produce trim or edges that will exactly match the flat surfaces of a product. Our papers will accept a variety of adhesives used during the laminating process. Additionally, we can supply our light basis weight papers with hot melt adhesive ready for hot roll laminating. This hot melt adhesive is applied at our McDonough, GA facility in the same location that we print this paper. Toppan’s developments in gloss and texturing during the production of our light basis weight papers significantly improve the optical realism and “touch” using our synchronized gradational embossing techniques. This has positioned Toppan’s papers as a value engineered alternative for higher end products looking to maintain economical pricing.
